The Premiere College Golf Awards

 
 

Since its formation in 1971, the Haskins Foundation has been devoted to collegiate golf and growing the game.

The Haskins Award and ANNIKA Award are presented annually by the Haskins Foundation to honor the most outstanding collegiate golfer in the United States.

The Haskins Award is named in memory of Fred Haskins, former golf teaching professional at the Country Club of Columbus (Georgia) who devoted his life to nurturing and mentoring amateur players.

The ANNIKA Award is presented in honor of Hall of Famer, Annika Sorenstam, the greatest professional womens’ golfer of our time.

The foundation, based in Columbus, Ga., oversees the voting conducted among college golfers, coaches and golf media.

  • Fred Haskins Award

    Since its formation in 1971, the Haskins Commission has been devoted to amateur golf and the presentation of the Haskins Award. This coveted trophy honors the year’s outstanding college golfer and the memory of Fred Haskins, an obscure club pro that spent his life nurturing and mentoring amateur golfers. The commission, based in Columbus, Ga., oversees the voting conducted among college golfers, coaches and golf media.

  • ANNIKA Award

    In 2014, The Haskins Commission observed the need for acknowledging the top female collegiate golfers. The Commission approached none other than Annika Sorenstam who graciously agreed to become its namesake. The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, is now presented annually to the top female U.S. collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the golf media.

The Haskins Foundation was formed to uphold the mission of the Fred Haskins Commission and promote collegiate golf. Donating to the Haskins Foundation is a way for those with a love for college golf and the legacy of Mr. Fred Haskins to give back to the collegiate game and preserve the vision of the Fred Haskins Award. Thanks to our generous donors, the Foundation has been able to accomplish many of our strategic initiatives, including the addition of the ANNIKA Award Presented by Stifel in 2014.
