Fred Haskins and this year’s scholarship recipient share a passion for golf. When his high school baseball career was cut short due to COVID, Gehrig found his way on the golf course and never left.

Gehrig Massey is a 2023 graduate of Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia. He is now a member of the Georgia Military College men’s golf team where he competed in five events his freshman year with a low competitive round of 71. Now as a sophomore, Massey holds a scoring average of 74.

After finishing his high school golf career with All-Region status, Massey now focuses his time on his golf career at GMC where he is majoring in Political Science. In addition to his academics, he is also very involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and currently leads a team Bible study.
